Justice Rajendra Mal Lodha, of age 64, sworn in as 41st Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of India on April 27, 2014 and took over his charge. The President of India Shri Pranab Mukherjee appointed him as Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of India under the powers conferred under Article 124 Part 2 of constitution of India. Justice Lodha was born on September 28, 1949   in the city of Jodhpur.                 Mr. Rajendra Mal Lodha was working as a judge of the Supreme Court.   His father, Mr. SK Mal Lodha was a judge of the High Court of Rajasthan. He acquired his Bachelor of Science, Law degrees from the University of Jodhpur.
