Meaning of UA-
Urban
Agglomeration (or UA) comprises-
(a) a city or a town with a continuous
outgrowth, the outgrowth being outside the statutory limits but falling
within the boundaries of the adjoining village or villages; or
(b) Two
or more adjoining towns with their outgrowths, if any. Examples of Urban
Agglomerations (UAs) in India are Greater Mumbai UA, Delhi UA, Kolkata
UA, etc. Each of these UAs comprise of a number of Statutory Towns,
Census Towns and Outgrowth (OGs).
